Government

As the creator and earliest user of the Internet, the US government is now learning to leverage the business opportunity of the Internet to streamline government processes and simplify basic contracting, procurement, and service issues.

For governments and universities around the world, the tools that the Internet offers are critical for collaborative research projects, information exchange, and timely delivery. For the first time, not only local, but also global research and development efforts can take advantage of the power of the Internet bringing their findings and conclusions to the public much faster.

For governments, non-profit organizations, and universities, the Internet makes an impact on how to restructure the marketing, selling, and customer service components of their business processes. As opposed to companies in the travel and entertainment field, companies in the public and non-profit sector will see their business impacted more on the service side than in sales and revenues.

Finance & Insurance

Many unique requirements and challenges face the financial community in launching complex Internet initiatives. Maintaining customer trust, providing continuous access, and ensuring confidentiality of customer financial information are of utmost importance. Security takes on a whole new meaning when dealing with sensitive financial data being transacted on a volume basis.

BestSoft realizes that financial and insurance Information Security is much more than the latest technology, hot fix or virus patch. It encompasses all elements of a company's complex business environment. With legislation such as Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, GLBA, and the California Privacy Law (SB1386) requiring higher standards of risk governance, privacy accounting, security operations and policies must now align with larger business objectives and corporate strategy. The money business is a tough world. The smart companies come to BestSoft to get tougher.

Healthcare

The health care industry, as it entered the new millennium, could prove to be the most impacted by the emergence and acceptance of the Internet. As the US economy's largest segment, valued at over $1 trillion, the health care industry will increasingly become revolutionized by the Internet and new technologies.

The traditional characteristics of this industry - costly, time-and-paper-intensive processes, large databases, and scores of individual proprietary systems - will present an integration challenge that requires complex configurations to deliver secure, accurate information and manage high volumes of traffic.

Already, healthcare companies and members of the medical community are utilizing the Internet to create efficiencies and disseminate information to patients and consumers. Accuracy and timeliness in the health care industry are critical - patients' lives are at stake.

Retail & Distribution

Retail and distribution are becoming reliant on the Internet as a new sales channel and a conduit of information to customers.

Business-to-consumer sales are at the forefront of these projections. Based on the Forrester forecasts, the average annual growth rate for consumer or retail sales is 70%.

The Internet changes the possibilities. To take advantage of those you must also solve the challenges it presents. A good e-commerce site needs a supply-chain strategy, a system that manages inventory through customer service and a site that creates a rich brand experience. It's not e-commerce – it is eSupply chain. And those who get there first, win. To this end, Meta Group says you'd save 43% in hard costs, increase productivity by 30%, boost customer retention by 16% and increase revenues by 12%. Would you like that? Sure you would.

You create an e-commerce site for the same reason as you do anything in business, to make money. If you want to make money, then certainly you know efficiency is important. Don't just build a web site. Build a new channel of opportunities.
